چکیده
Correction for 'Tap density equations of granular powders based on the rate process theory and the free volume concept' by Tian Hao et al. The authors regret the following errors in eqns (23), (24) and (26). The corrected equations are shown below. The section on page 4 The energy owing from the shaker to the powder 36 is: EðtÞ ¼ M g L 0 u p (23) where M g is the weight of powder. The total energy owing to the powder aer a series of tapping processes with the tapping number, n, may be expressed as: E ¼ nEðtÞ ¼ nM g L 0 u p (24) should be corrected to The energy owing rate from the shaker to the powder 36 is: EðtÞ ¼ MgL 0 u 2p (23) where Mg is the weight of powder. The total energy owing to the powder aer a series of tapping processes with the tapping number, n, may be expressed as: E ¼ nE(t)t ¼ nMgL 0 (24) where t is the time spent for one tap.

Tap density equations of granular powders based on the rate process theory and the free volume concept.
The tap density of a granular powder is often linked to the flowability via the Carr index that measures how tight a powder can be packed, under an assumption that more easily packed powders usually flow poorly. Understanding how particles are packed is important for revealing why a powder flows better than others. There are two types of empirical equations that were proposed to fit the experim...
متن کاملDerivation of stretched exponential tap density equations of granular powders.
The tap density of granular powders was found to be better fitted with the stretched exponential law. In our previous work, the stretched exponential tap density equations were derived with the rate process theory and free volume concept, under the assumption that the particle packing rate during the tapping process obeys the stretched Arrhenius equation, which, however, has an empirical origin...
متن کاملModeling the Transport and Volumetric Properties of Solutions Containing Polymer and Electrolyte with New Model
A new theoretical model based on the local composition concept (TNRF-mNRTL model) was proposed to express the short-range contribution of the excess Gibbs energy for the solutions containing polymer and electrolyte. This contribution of interaction along with the long-range contribution of interaction (Pitzer-Debye-Hückel equation), configurational entropy of mixing (Flory-Huggins relation)...
متن کاملFree vibration behavior of bi-directional functionally graded plates with porosities using a refined first order shear deformation theory
This paper proposes the refined first order shear deformation theory to investigate the free vibration behavior of bidirectional functionally graded porous plates. This theory satisfies the transverse shear stress free conditions at the top and bottom of the plate, thus avoids the need of a shear correction factor. The rule of mixtures is employed to compute the effective material properties an...
متن کاملOptimization of the aerosolization properties of an inhalation dry powder based on selection of excipients.
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of formulation excipients on physical characteristics of inhalation dry powders prepared by spray-drying. The excipients used were a series of amino acids (glycine, alanine, leucine, isoleucine), trehalose and dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC). The particle diameter and the powder density were assessed by laser diffraction and tap densi...
